Log in to your Webmail Account

Firstly go to the login page for your webmail, in your browser enter the url https://www.your-domain-name:2096

When prompted for your userid enter your full email account name (e.g. myname@your-domain-name) and your email password. This password will havqe been created when your email account was created. If you do not know what this password is contact your system administrator or contact Neologix support on support@neologix.net.

After you have logged in successfully you will see a web page offerring a choice of webmail clients, select one of the webmail clients. Note that a selection here is not permanent, the next time you log in you can select a different webmail client.

You will now be able to browse and respond to your emails. If you do not delete these emails they will be downloaded to your workstation the next time your log in.

Changing your Webmail Password

Log in to your webmail account as described in the article "Log in to yhour Webmail Account " above but do not select one of the webmail clients. Instead click the "Change password" icon. You can now enter a new password. Note that you have to enter the password twice and then click the "Change" button for your new password to become your email password.

If you are using software such as MS Exchange POP3 Connector or the Linux Fetchmail program you will have to update the password details for your account before your emails will download to your internal mailserver. If you download mail direct to your workstation do not forget to update the account details in your mail client (e.g. MS Outlook, Thunderbird etc).

Adding an "Out-of-Office" Message

Log in to the web control panel for your domain (see the article Log in to your Web Site Control Panel above).

In the "Mail" section of the web control panel click the icon labelled "Auto Responders". You will be taken to a web page headed "Auto Responders".

Click the button labelled "Add Auto-responder".

In the "Modify/Add Auto-responder" web page ensure the following items have appropriate values:

  • "Character Set" - defaults to "utf-8" which is normally acceptable unless you have special character set requirements.
  • "Email" - this is the email address which is going to send the "Out-of_Office" message
  • "From" - usually the "Out-of-Office" message will come from the email address to which it was sent. If this is what you require enter "%from%" here but without the quotes Other optiuons might be to use an administrative type of email address eg. mailadmin@mydomain.com or do-not-reply@mydomain.com.
  • "Subject" - Usually you would refer to the subject of the incoming email so enter "re: %subject%" here but again without the quotes.
  • "Body" - here you enter the message you want to use as your "Out-of-Office" message.
  • Now click the "Create/Modify" button.

... and that's it, your "Out-of-Office" message is created and ready to run. Don't forget to remove it when are back in the office.
